James Bird is the Lead Nurse for Emergency Services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Although he doesn’t code in standard languages such as Python or Java he has still managed to provide a software solution that improved the incident reporting that charge nurses encountered in A and E. This software solution that as implemented in Microsoft Access has improved the ease of incident reporting and it’s electronic format has resulted in it producing reports and analysis on how events have affected the department over time. He tells us how he developed the solution and how he implemented it.
